The cushions look fabulous, and they are so comfy! My son has basically moved out of the cottage and sleeps out in the rec hall every night on the new benches! Thanks again, I will keep you in mind for other projects as well!
To say kind words about Valerie and her services isn't the problem, its knowing which of her fine qualities to mention first.
Valerie takes pride in what she does and won't deliver a product that she hasn't thoroughly inspected. She delivers on time and budget and is a pleasure to work with.
I highly recommend Valerie.
Valerie de Moore of De Moores became our work room of choice when we used her services to fabricate and install heavy, lined hotel style drapery in a 100 year old Victorian home at Bloor and Avenue Road. Because of the age of the home, and the fact that the installation went into original plaster, it required special attention. We knew that Valerie was unique when she painstakingly re-pinned the entire drapery hem to account for the height variations in the old ceiling.
We have also used Valerie for drapery installations in luxury homes in Oakville, for upholstery and drapery work in a downtown Toronto penthouse, for similar types of work in a restored cottage in Muskoka and a head to toe installation of all window coverings and extensive upholsteries in a new cottage in Grand Bend.
On a commercial level, Valerie partnered with us for an extensive office facelift for the Sheraton Gateway Hotel at Pearson Airport.
We have found her delivery times very reasonable, her response time amazing and her attention to detail to be outstanding. If there are issues that (inevitably) arise on a project, Valerie is quick to address them with great professionalism.
We would not hesitate to recommend her and her team.
Early in Nov 2008 Valerie de Moore was hired to oversee the heart of the house project in the Sheraton Gateway Hotel. This involved the renovation of several big administrative offices – Finance, Sales, Catering, Reservation, Front Desk, executed at several phases over an extensive time period.
Valerie was instrumental in gathering all the feedback from the associates regarding their needs as well as from the management regarding the financial requirements and constraints. She met numerous times with all parties involved to listen to their recommendations, incorporate them in the project and at the same time to give her educated suggestions in order to achieve functionality and esthetics in the offices.
Upon confirming of the plan, the hotel moved to execution phase. Valerie de Moore visited the renovation site regularly, inspecting the completion of each part of the work, giving suggestion to us, the client, how to negotiate better results and at the same time discussing with the contractor ways to improve the work flow. She worked in collaborative tandem with a designer – Shevawn Adams – which improved the quality further.
During the project Valerie made herself available to discuss opportunities for making the workspace even better – by discussing ways to decorate and furnish the space.
The team of Sheraton Gateway is very thankful to Val for her dedicated efforts, great professionalism and friendly smile.
Feel free to contact me should you require any further details.
Working in a busy Hotel like the Sheraton Gateway in Toronto International Airport can present itself with many challenges. Valerie was the Project Manager for this large office renovation. She did not skip a beat and was ready to push through to problem solve and keep us on track. The design elements transformed the space giving it a fresh start for 2009. <
Valerie de Moore has definitely exceeded my expectations!
I have enjoyed a great work experience with Valerie DeMoore on both a personal and professional level. Valerie made the most fantastic slipcovers in my home for a loveseat and chair with matching throw cushions. She also has a strong business partnership with Otto Bock HealthCare Canada in that she sews cushion covers for wheelchairs that are customized in terms of pressure points. Her dedication towards the disabled community is amazing.
Valerie goes over and above in terms of quality, consistency and timeliness to meet the needs of Otto Bock customers.
"There are certain household tasks that are required which cause undue stress: re-upholstering a favourite piece of furniture is one of these. What a joy, then, to discover a woman, and a company that do the job properly and without fuss. Valerie DeMoore of De Moores has now done four pieces of furniture for my husband and I: a couch; a sofa chair; a nursing chair; and pillows for all of these. They are beautiful!
Valerie helped me choose the fabric, guided my decision by giving me information concerning quality, flexibility, durability ( I have two cats with claws), washability and price. She certainly does not seem like someone hankering after the dollar at the consumer's expense. On the contrary, her concern, courtesy, and the rapidity with which she accomplishes the work are outstanding and indeed, unique.
I recommend her work without hesitation, and of course, am looking forward to the next item!
